A sad but true tale.
She sat in class pulling out her hairs one by one. NODEEEEEEEEEEEE she said.
"What?" said the boy beside her with the dashing smile.
I ... CANT... DO .... IT.. she managed to blurt out, while squeezing the mouse with impressive force.
"Can I help in any way?" He replied pulling his chair closer to hers.
She blushed a little, and prayed he didn't notice
"It's this project, I just don't get it" She pointed at the screen trying to draw attention away from her face.
"Well, maybe you just need to take a break" he said. He pulled out a notebook and started sketching something. "What are you drawing there?" she asked, her attention now completely off the work she was attempting to do. "Im drawing you." He replies, with a sly smirk on his face.
"MEE?" she said her face feeling very hot now "Can I see? " she said and tried to reach for the book he was drawing in.
He quickly pulled it away from her "Not till it's done"
She fidgeted with her phone feeling a strange combination of gitty, and shy and unsure of what to do with herself.
After what felt like hours he finally turned the book around to show her.
"What do you think?" He asked softy
She snatched the notebook from his hands, "OH MY GOD, THIS IS GOOD?!" She says, almost in shock. "Jeez, thanks." he mutters. "Well, I didn't mean it like that! I just didnt know you could draw!" she says. "Theres a lot of things you don't know about me, like for example, this is not the first time I drew you. I see you going to the coffee shop on 5th and Front Street every Monday, I live across the street, and I have been drawing you while you wait in line." She stares blankly at him, unsure of how to respond. He instantly regrets sharing this with her, as she continues to stare blankly ahead, expressionless. After an awkward silence, she asks "Can I see them?" "See what?" he replies. "See the pictures! That you drew of me?"
"Well I don't have them with me exactly... They're at my house" He rubs his hair and looks toward the ground it was his turn to feel awkward.
"Well this class is nearly over, you said you live by the coffee shop why don't you go get them and you can show me there" She says smiling
He swallows hard, he wasn't expecting her to be so confident, nevermind this direct. He pondered on her inquiry for what must have been to long and she follows with
"I mean you don't have to if you don't want to, I just thought it might be fun" She says casually.
Finally he finds he resolve "No, No I agree we absolutely should, why don't we head over now"
She sends him a message on Facebook.
"Meet me beside the coffeeshop before you go in! :)"
He responds "Sure thing!"
He arrives a few minutes early, and stands in the alley way beside the coffee shop to keep warm out of the chilly fall wind.
He looks down at his phone, scrolling through the Facebook Newsfeed, when suddenly he is stuck in the back by an unknown object, causing him to fall into the concrete ground beneath him. "Wha-" he manages to mumble, holding his head and laying in the fetal position. "Thats what you get for stalking me you CREEP!" the girl yells, holding a 3 foot metal pole above her head. "What the fuck!" he mumbles, still holding his throbbing skull. "Stay away from me or I'm calling the police!" She screams at him, while simultaneously pulling out her can of premium pepper spray, and before she can remove the lid his hand comes swooping in, knocking the can out of her hand and onto the ground.
Fortunately, he had spent many years as a kid in karate lessons, and still knew a thing or two about defending himself. He sprung back to his feet, regaining his composure after the unexpected attack. He lunged toward the girl, just enough to get her to swing the pole at him again, then expertly side-stepped it, and snatched it from her hand, all in one smooth motion.
She was taken aback by his apparent expertise, and hoped she wasn't in over her head. He had stepped back though, and it seemed the scuffle was over.
"You know, I never meant to be a creep," he said, dropping the pole to ground as his feet, with a metallic clang. He looked at his feet, "I was just... I thought you were really beautiful, and, well, you know how it goes." He glanced up at her, looking adorably embarrassed. "Do you think you could give me a chance at not being a creep?"
She thought about this request for a moment. He did seem sincere... and he was kinda cute. "I'll think about it," she said, not wanting to give in too easily, and she turned away to leave the alley.
Before she could take three steps, she was grabbed from behind, and a damp rag pressed against her face. A sickly sweet smell filled her nostrils, her vision darkened around the edges, and she could feel consciousness quickly ebbing away.
She awakens, and all she can see is blackness. She tries to sit up but soon realizes she is strapped to a dental chair. The smell of mold fills the air, and the slight aroma of rotting flesh
She tries to take note of her surroundings. A bright light is pointed right in her face preventing her from seeing much. She squints trying to see further into the darkness around her,
"Hello!" she calls out "Is anyone there?"
A small rustle can he be heard from somewhere in the room
"Please HELP ME!" She calls again
The rustling gets nearer and then she feels something against her leg it slowly draws closer to her knee and into her view. She holds her breath until finally she sees it two beady eyes, whiskers and a small nose. It's a mouse. She chuckles to herself almost instinctively.
"You really scared me there little guy"
Just as she finishes the sentence a door opens somewhere in the room and the mouse scurries off.
"You finally woke up I see" Says a familiar voice.
"Who are you??" She yelled
